MORRISTOWN -- The public is invited to the Morristown Gateway Museum for its opening reception of a two-week display of antique fishing lures and equipment on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.

The event is free and light refreshments will be served.

Exhibitors include Ray Bartholomew of Norwood, who has collected local lures for over 30 years. His collection includes pieces made by the W.D. Chapman Lure Company, originally from Theresa, and lures by the C.W. Lane Company of Madrid.

Jerry Lincoln and Shannon Demers, both of Ogdensburg, will display portions of their collections.

Patrick Foy, originally from Gouverneur and now living in Morristown, will display handmade painted lures which were created by his uncle, Earl W. Meade, in the 1920s.

Longtime antique collector David Sickler will display fish and eel spears.
