OGDENSBURG -- An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of “The Tortoise Versus The Hare” on Monday, March 9 from 3-5 p.m. in the cafeteria at Ogdensburg Free Academy.

Those auditioning should arrive by 3 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Most of the cast members will be asked to stay for rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast are the wise Tortoise – Coach Shelley Bowlback, the conceited Curly Hare Esther and her daughter Little Bonnie Bunny, the rascally Weasels, the singing service station Ferrets, and the scaly Reptiles.

Other roles include the Thespian Troupe, Curly’s Posse, the TV Crew, the Stagehands, and the rowdy Curly Hare Fan Club.

Students, grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition.

No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props, and makeup.

The MCT Tour actor/directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. each day. It is very important, if chosen to play a role, that the student is available for every scheduled rehearsal Monday through Friday and both performances on Saturday.

Performances of “The Tortoise Versus The Hare” will be presented Saturday, March 14 at 3 and 5:30 p.m. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency is presented by Ogdensburg Command Performances.

For more information or to purchase tickets (adults $6, students under 12 $4, and free for preschoolers) call the OCP Box Office 315-393-2625.
