MASSENA – For the past 29 years, the MMH Foundation has held a spring radiothon during Hospital Week with the help of 1340 WMSA to benefit Massena Memorial’s equipment needs.

This year the Foundation is again teaming up with 1340 WMSA but with a twist. A well known voice will be calling the show on Friday, May 11 thanks to the support of the event’s title sponsor, SeaComm.

Jerry Manor will be live on air from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. explaining the items, giving updates on a running total and interviewing guests.

“We are extremely excited to partner with SeaComm and Jerry for this year’s radiothon. SeaComm has been a steadfast supporter of the Foundation and hospital for many years. As a major donor to our comprehensive campaign, SeaComm firmly believes in the importance of the Future of Healthcare for our community” noted Julia Rose, Foundation executive director.

This year’s radiothon theme is “Everyday Heroes.”

Proceeds will benefit the purchase of a new camera/scope for the daVinci Surgical System.

daVinci offers minimally invasive surgery for our patients and currently Dr. Facey and Dr. Greenberg are trained and utilizing this technology for their patients.

Last year’s radiothon was successful in supporting the equipment and instrument needs of the hospital’s new ENT/plastic surgeon, Dr. Henri Gaboriau.

“It is always gratifying to not only have a successful event because of the kindness of our auction item donors, auction participants and pledges, but, to help establish a much needed new health specialty for our community. Dr. Gaboriau’s patients are thrilled with the care he has provided and that’s our mission – to enhance patient care,” said event coordinator, Julianne Fowler.

Auction items can be found online at www.biddingforgood.com/mmhfoundation.

The auction is live and bids and pledges can be made online.

Bids and pledges will also be accepted by phone on Friday, May 11 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 315-764-8765 or in person at Massena Memorial’s board room.

The MMH Foundation is a separate, non-profit corporation whose sole purpose is to raise funding in support of Massena Memorial Hospital.
