MASSENA – The Massena Artists Association has put out a call for artists for its Spring Art Exhibit, running from Tuesday, May 17 to Saturday, May 28 at the Massena Public Library.

This will be an open exhibit, meaning that it is open to all artists, all media, and all subjects.

The only restriction is the size of the piece. Because of limited space, work should be no larger than 40 inches in any dimension.

Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces. Work must be delivered to the Massena Public Library at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, accompanied by a completed application form and a $1 entry fee for each piece.

Two-dimensional work must be framed and have a wire attached for hanging.

Works on paper should be matted and framed under glass or plexiglass to protect the surface of the work.

Larger pieces should be glazed with plexiglass to reduce the weight and fragility of the work.

This is not a juried show.

All work submitted that is suitably framed and wired for hanging will be exhibited. People’s Choice awards will be presented.

The public will be asked to vote for their favorite piece. Votes will be received for the entire first week that the exhibit is on display.

The opening reception will be Tuesday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m.

Artists may pick up their work on Saturday, May 28.

MAA members and artists who have exhibited in recent MAA Juried Art Exhibits should have received application forms in the mail.

Other artists may pick up application forms at the Massena Public Library, print them from or request forms from Dorothy at 769-5571 or Cecilia at 769-6210.
