HEUVELTON -- Pickens Hall, 83 State St., will host an acoustic, patriotic-themed jam session tonight starting at 7 p.m.
The public is invited to bring their acoustic instruments to play, voices to sing, feet to dance, or just themselves to enjoy the evening full of local entertainment.
Heuvelton Historical Association President David H. Kingsley invites local residents who enjoy music to attend. “This jam session is patriotic and summer songs,” Mr. Kingsley said. “If you like to play acoustic music, sing or just listen - we invite you to attend.”
In March of this year, Pickens Hall hosted an Irish-themed event. “The place was full,” Mr. Kingsley said. “We had 26 musicians, some of which were phenomenal.”
Donnie Woodcock, Barbara Heller and Jon and Bonnie Daniels all performed as part of the ensemble during the last jam session.
Pickens General Store will be open during the event, and refreshments will be served.
On Monday, July 18 Pickens Hall will host its monthly bluegrass jam session. This event is sponsored by Thousand Island Bluegrass Association.
Admission to the event is free, but donations will be accepted at door.
