POTSDAM -- The Local Living Venture will have their annual meeting February 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. (dinner at 6:30) at the First Presbyterian Church of Potsdam Community Room at 42 Elm St.

The event will feature another of their bi-monthly "Bulk Food Fiestas", where a large amount of a seasonal food is prepared by the group.

"We all prep and cook the food together and it's a wonderful community feeling when we're all sharing great tips and recipes!", noted LLV Board member Rajiv Narula. The Treasurer for the organization, Alicia Cote added that the group then not only shares the meal they've prepared together, but also divvy up the remainders for easy meals later.

Basic cooking skills, food safety and nutrition tips will be shared, and teens are welcome to join with the adults to learn in a fun environment. Children's activities will also be provided. Participants may wish to bring a container in the event there are leftovers to take home.

Food preparation will begin as a group effort at 5 p.m., with a shared meal by 6:30 p.m. During the meal there will be a brief annual meeting for the Local Living Venture, while the simple but "delicious" meal of various beans and grains with multiple toppings is shared by all. For anyone who thinks that "beans and grains" are a boring dietary staple, the LLV has a surprise in store for them.
