CANTON – Make your own holiday history this year at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St., Canton, at SLCHA’s holiday events.

This year’s holiday events include: Holiday Open House, Friday, Dec. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.; Holiday Tea, Sunday, Dec. 4 from 1-3 p.m.; Holiday Sale, Friday, Dec. 9 from noon-8 p.m. & Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; and the Adirondack Santa, Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m.

All SLCHA holiday events are free and open to the public.

The Holiday Open House will include live seasonal music beginning at 4 p.m. with the Preservation Band, a group of students led by Tim Savage & Warren Wisner. At 5 p.m. the Northwinds ensemble will play, followed by Diane Foote at 6 p.m., and the Noteworthy Handbell Choir at 7 p.m.

The Canton Garden Club will again decorate the Silas Wright House with beautiful floral arrangements for the holidays, as they have for 36 years; as well as decorating the Victorian Christmas trees for the SLCHA.

The Holiday Tea is a great opportunity to soak in the Victorian holiday atmosphere of the Silas Wright House during daylight hours; enjoy fabulous tea, fine refreshments, festive music and flowing conversation.

The Holiday Sale is a great opportunity to find just the right gift at a great price and also support St. Lawrence County history. Most items in the gift shop will be on sale at a 10% discount and SLCHA members will receive a 15% discount.

The Adirondack Santa returns to the Second Saturday children’s program to hear holiday wishes. Children age 4-10 can be photographed with the celebrated Adirondack Santa, listen to a story and make a holiday tree ornament. The Silas Wright House will remain decorated for the holidays through Saturday, Dec. 17.
