MADRID -- A free family-oriented safety and fitness program will be offered at Madrid-Waddington Central High School gymnasium from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Instructors from American Kang Duk Won Karate will discuss child safety, anti-bullying, positive behaviors, and family fitness. Local karate students will also perform a series of martial arts exercises at the conclusion of the presentation.

Those in attendance will actively participate in a brief series of exercises that emphasize self-defense for all ages, awareness of risky situations, and methods to deal will bullying. All activities will be conducted in a respectful and disciplined manner.

New fall classes in American Kang Duk Won Karate are beginning, offering an opportunity for family members to participate in a positive safety oriented activity. Lessons are non-competitive and non-contact in style.

Wednesday’s seminar is open to all members of the general public. Information concerning family safety will be available.
