MASSENA -- Jeremy P. Kearns Memorial Snowmobile Ride will be held Saturday, Feb. 9 starting at the Cedar View Golf Club, 462 State Highwyay 37C.

The event is being held in remembrance of Kearns, a journeyman lineman with the IBEW Local Union 1249 who was killed in a helicopter crash on Oct. 30, 2018. Kearns’ sister and brother have organized the event to honor their late brother, who was a father, brother, son, uncle, and avid sportsman.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Louisville.

The schedule of events:

• 9 a.m.-noon, registration, shirt and wrist band pick up at the Cedar View;

• 11 a.m., tentative ride take off from Cedar View; route will be Riverview, The Jug, Moira Legion, Fort Covington Legion; maps will be provided the morning of the ride;

• 5 p.m., end at Cedar View, drawing of hands at 5 p.m. to accommodate those who are not able to make it to all stops but would still like to participate;

• 6 p.m.-close, live music, drinks, raffles, silent auction.

Registration is $35 and includes a poker hand and shirt.

A block of rooms have been reserved at The Comfort Inn Akwesasne, 65 NY-37 Hogansburg 13655. Boarders should state they are with the Jeremy Kearns Memorial Ride.

A shuttle bus will be provided the night of the event to take people from the venue to the hotel, and into Massena.

There will be a fireworks show by Majestic Fireworks at 8 p.m. at the Cedar View.
