ST. REGIS FALLS -- Donations are needed for a jamboree at ADK Riverside Nov. 16 for Kiersten Greenwood, 25, of St. Regis Falls.

On Sept. 27, Greenwood fell over a cliff on the St. Regis River while attempting to rescue her dog Jasmine who had fallen over the edge while walking behind her father's home.

Greenwood broke both legs during the fall.

The rescue by DEC Forest Rangers lasted more than four hours since the helicopter was unable to reach her safely. The rescue crew ended up clearing the side of the cliff and hoisting her up on a backboard, said a press release from the jamboree organizers.

Greenwood was then transported by ATV to the ambulance which took her to Canton Potsdam Hospital where she was treated and transported to Burlington Vermont Fletcher Allen Health Care.

The Falls woman has undergone three surgeries and has a rod and screws in one leg and plate and screws in the other as well as a broken heel. She is healing well but it will be sometime before she will be able to return to work, organizers said. Greenwood is expected to start PT soon and is currently in two boots.

All proceeds from the jamboree will go towards her medical bills (she has no health insurance) as well as transportation costs for follow-up and PT.

The jamboree will start at 1 p.m. and include a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, food, and music by Jack Bellows and Maximum Effect Music.

All donations are appreciated.
