EDWARDS -- The Gwen Tracy Trio will perform at the Edwards Opera House, 161 Main St., Saturday, May 12 at 7 p.m.

The trio has become a musical staple of Upstate NY. The group is comprised of Gwen Tracy on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jim Tracy on lead guitar, and Doug Moody on fiddle. They are often accompanied by other great musicians and special guests from around the area.

For the last two decades, Gwen Tracy has gained renown as a vocal powerhouse, guitarist, and songwriter. Her musical cocktail calls for two parts blues, one-part rock and roll, and a splash of folk tradition.

Gwen’s mission, as a performer, is to forge a connection with and inspire her audience.

Born into a musical family, Gwen has performed on stage with some of the best musicians in the area and derives the most enjoyment from performing with her long time musical partner: her father, Jim Tracy. She cites Etta James, Susan Tedeschi, Linda Ronstadt, and Imelda May as her inspirations.

Gwen and her father Jim are natives to the Adirondacks, with roots dating back to the early 1800’s. Doug, grew up in Buffalo, and now resides in the southern part of the Adirondack Park.

The trio formed about four years ago and are currently recording their debut album, set to be released as soon as possible.

Admission is $10.
