Fall Foliage Festival Oct. 19 at Finen Maple Sugar House in Norwood includes wagon rides, paintball, food

NORWOOD – A Fall Foliage Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Finen Maple Sugar House, 529 Austin Ridge Rd.

The event will feature local craft and wine vendors, live entertainment, bounce house, petting zoo, face painting and Lena the Lizard Lady with 30 reptiles.

Nicandri Nature Center will stage a Harry Potter Experience with walks at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., magic wand making from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and slime making from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

There will also be the Jurassic Park Jeep on display, paint ball game, selfie station, pumpkins for sale, wine slushies from River Myst Winery, TJ’s 50-yard Line Food Truck, a 20-foot long blow up colon to walk through, wellness booths manned by CHMC, St. Lawrence County Health Initiative and Walmart Pharmacy, raffles, and a Take A Chance auction.

The complete event schedule includes:

9 a.m.-4 p.m. breakfast, menu includes pancakes, waffles, French toast, maple hot dogs, milkshakes, sundaes

9 a.m.-3 p.m., Harry Potter Experience wand making with Nicandri Nature Center

9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. paintball

10 a.m. Harry Potter Experience walk

10-11 a.m. Heuvelton Stompers II, country line dancing

11 a.m.-2 p.m. horse-drawn carriage rides through the woods, sponsored by SeaComm FCU

11 a.m.-2 p.m. live music from David Wells and Mark Lyon

1 p.m. cow patty bingo; Harry Potter Experience walk

1:30-4 p.m. face painting by Prism Face Painting

2-2:15 guest speakers Amanda Hitterman, executive director of Claxton Hepburn Medical Center Foundation, and Julie Parkman, cancer survivor

2:30-3:30 p.m. Completely Stranded Improv Group; slime making with Nicandri Nature Center

3:30-4 p.m. raffle winners announced.

Profits made at the festival from the sale of breakfast, the raffle, parking and vendor fees will benefit the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, located at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. The funds will support the Warrior Fund, which helps patients receiving chemotherapy and their families that need assistance with food, lodging and gas expenses associated with travel to treatment.
