POTSDAM – A February Vacation Week Space Camp for children in grades 2-6 will be held at the North Country Children's Museum, 10 Raymond St., from Monday, Feb. 17-Friday, Feb. 21.
Campers will explore the otherworldly beauty of alien planets and cosmic phenomena and discover the incredible potential of extremophiles on earth, said a press release from the museum. Attendees will experiment with the radiation in our own backyards and see how other worlds weather the storms of cosmic radiation.
Finally, they'll collaborate on creating an exoplanet, full of theoretical biochemistry, and see how intelligent life could develop in ways not as alien as we think, the press release said.
Camp is led by NCCM science educator and university faculty.
Two field trips are included.
Camp runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Bring a bag lunch.
Cost is $195 for the week with a 10% discount for museum members.
