POTSDAM -- The fifth annual charity hockey games to benefit Potsdam Educational Opportunities Fund (PEOF) will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. March 17 at Clarkson University’s Cheel Arena.
This year there will be three games, the first game featuring doctors and staff of Canton-Potsdam Hospital taking on professors and staff of Clarkson University, 1 p.m.; the second with teachers and staff of Potsdam Central School taking on professors and staff of SUNY Potsdam, 2 p.m.; and a 20 minute- championship game 3:10 p.m.
The event will also feature raffle items and chuck a puck. Admission is $5. Children under 10 are free.
Proceeds of the game will benefit PEOF, which provides support for K-12 educational activities in the Potsdam Central School. District. PEOF distributed grants totaling over $15,000 to PCS in 2018.
