NORWOOD – A benefit for Azlynne Williams and her family will be held Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion.
Williams was born with neurofibromatosis (NFI), a genetic neurological disorder than can affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves and skin. In 2010, at 13-years-old Williams underwent a small bowel transplant. In 2019 she was diagnosed with chronic GvHD or graft versus host disease, which sometimes occurs after a transplant. She now has irreversible stage 3 kidney disease.
Her family stays with her at the Ronald McDonald House in New York City, where she cannot leave the room due to a compromised immune system.
The money from the fundraiser will help the family with expenses during this ordeal.
Admission is $5 at the door. Spaghetti dinner costs $8. There will be raffles and live music.
Donations are being accepted towards the raffle baskets. Call or text Kaitlin at 315-261-8267 to donate.
