MADRID -- A back to school event for students in pre K-12th grade will be held at Madrid-Waddington High School Friday, Aug. 23 from 2-6 p.m.
The event, organized by the Yellow Jacket Connection, a community organization, will assist local families with school necessities such as clothing, backpacks, and supplies, and provide haircuts, access to needed resources, and information about the upcoming school year. Everything is provided free of cost to all participating families.
The county sheriff's department will provide Safe Child ID assistance, as well as the opportunity for people to safely dispose of both controlled and non-controlled prescription drugs, and over-the-counter medications.
