MASSENA -- Charles Gardner, author of a book on the 2015 Dannemora prison break, will be at the North Country Showcase in Harte Haven Plaza Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. for a book signing event.
“This book is a masterfully researched, edge-of-your-seat account of the notorious 2015 escape from Clinton Correctional Facility in northern New York – known more familiarly as Dannemora – by convicted killers David Sweat and Richard Matt,” said an announcement from the store. “‘Dannemora’ is as much a narrative of a well-publicized prison break as it is a look at the culture of a prison town and the people that call it home. It’s also a cautionary tale, that of prisoners just waiting for the right moment to make their escape, looking to exploit weaknesses in the system.”
