OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., event "Art Highlights and Tea" will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, with a talk by professional illustrator and artist Robert Selby.
Selby will present "Why We Celebrate the Horse in Fine Art.” Mr. Selby will focus on Frederic Remington's and Sally James Farnham's equestrian sculptures, in a larger art historical context.
Selby was an award winning staff illustrator at the Providence Journal, a member of the Society of Illustrators, New York, taught as an adjunct professor Department of Illustration, Rhode Island School of Design, an a number of other schools as well.
He has been a freelance illustrator for major publications, and is currently a full time artist and adjunct instructor at St. Lawrence University.
Further talks will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, and Wednesday, April 12. At 3 p.m, tea will be served, courtesy of Ann Groome and friends. Call 315-393-2425, email info@fredericremington.org or order online to reserve places at the tea. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
The talk is free and open to the public, and presented in the museum’s Newell Galleries.
