MASSENA – The New York Power Authority will be celebrating summer with free family fun at the second annual car cruise-in and antique truck show on July 30 at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch.
The Summer Spectacular will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a car cruise in, ladies craft fair, and outdoor bounce houses for the kids. All events are free and open to the public.
Some of the area’s finest classic cars will be on display at the visitors center.
Members of the Antique Truck Association will also bring their vehicles to Hawkins Point.
The first 80 cars and trucks at the event will receive commemorative dashboard plaques.
There is still space available for the truck show. Car and truck owners interested in registering their vehicles for the show can call 764-0226 ext. 304 for more information.
Outside the visitors center, NYPA will sponsor inflatable bounce houses for the kids.
A ladies craft fair will be held inside the visitors centers, with vendors offering hand-made jewelry, artwork, kitchen items and other specialties.
To help celebrate summer, NYPA will be providing free frozen treats to visitors, with the assistance of the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees are also invited to visit NYPA’s admission-free visitors center, featuring a wide range of interactive exhibits on subjects such as water power and the St. Lawrence-FDR Project, basics of electricity and uses of electricity.
The visitor’s center is currently operating on its summer schedule and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
