Former First Niagara Bank buildings in Massena and Potsdam will be auctioned on Aug. 8.
They each start at a minimum $50,000 bid.
The 7,342 square foot former bank at 16 Phillips St., Massena, is assessed at $500,000 on taxlookup.net.
The Potsdam location, an 8,760 square foot building at 14 Elm St., is assessed at $684,000 on the same website.
People interested in bidding on either building will be able to do so at https://www.williamsauction.com/ Aug. 8, with the Massena auction opening at 9 a.m. and the Potsdam auction at 11 a.m.
In 2011, Buffalo-based First Niagara bought 195 branches from United Kingdom-based HSBC, which included the Massena and Potsdam locations now going up for auction. They were closed in 2016 when Key Bank bought First Niagara and announced over 100 Key Bank and First Niagara branches would close or consolidate.
