POTSDAM — NCC Systems, a security company with an office in Potsdam, was recently selected to participate in the Dan D’Aniello Family Foundation Acceleration Challenge.

NCC was one of 10veteran-owned businesses selected to participate in the intensive workshop during the recent Institute for Veteran and Military Families’ (IVMF) Veteran EDGE conference in Dallas, Texas.

After completing this challenge, each business is eligible to receive up to $10,000 in grant funding for their business.

The workshop was held in July 2019 at Syracuse University, where NCC CEO Thad Hunkins from Norwood, was awarded the Marvin Malikow Award which “recognizes an outstanding EBV Vetrepreneur who has demonstrated leadership in and outside the classroom, providing mentorship, guidance, and assistance to other EBV participants, being a role model, and exemplary student,” said a press release from the company.

Hunkins said the $10,000 grant will be used for training resources for both existing and prospective technicians in the local area.

“Every vet needs to know about these world class resources that accelerate your capabilities to succeed in today’s business world. I cannot overstate my gratitude for their dedication and generosity — it’s incredibly humbling,” Hunkins said in a news release.
