POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting May 4 at the KhoomPenJun Bed and Breakfast located at 62 Elm St.

“We are honored to host the ribbon cutting for KhoomPenJun to celebrate their new beginnings. John and Amornrat (Lindsey) provide beautiful accommodations with an authentic Thai experience. I believe this type of bed and breakfast will attract many people to Potsdam. Their guests will be able to experience our welcoming Potsdam community and all that it has to offer,” said Potsdam Chamber Board President Kellie Hitchman.

The business was previously named the “Siam Classic Inn and Spa.” They won the Lux Media Group Award as the World’s Best Inn and Spa for 2015. After taking time off to welcome their new daughter into the world, the Lindseys are rebranding as the KhoomPenJun Group LLC.

"The KhoomPenJun Bed & Breakfast offers a truly unique experience for the discerning traveler,” said Amornrat Lindsey, president and CEO. “It was created and inspired from my dream and vision since I was a little girl of owning a small and unique hotel. My goal with the KhoomPenJun B & B is to convey the feeling of authentic Thai culture through all of the senses and to create an atmosphere reflecting the old flavors of ancient Thailand. We look forward to welcoming our guests to Potsdam with our Thai hospitality to your home away from home!"

Walking through the doors of KhoomPenJun Bed & Breakfast, customers are transported to Thailand. Being the only Thai style bed and breakfast in North America and even all of the Americas, the owner prides herself in providing a unique Thai experience, said a chamber press release. Topping off that experience is an authentic Thai breakfast.

Their second property, RuenPenJun, is an offsite location available for vacation rental at 10 Hillcrest Ave. The rental includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it is an ideal location for easy access to SUNY Potsdam, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, and the Raquette River.
