OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority has announced two new members on the board of directors, and the selection of a new board chair.

Joseph I. Andriano of Potsdam and David D. King of Waddington were recently appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and confirmed by the state Senate.

Andriano is an assistant professor of law at Clarkson University. He owns the companies Holtz Nelson Dairy Consultants and Midas-Touch Genetics.

"I am honored to have been asked to serve on the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Board of Directors,” Adriano said in a prepared statement from OBPA. “I look forward to working together with my fellow board members, the OBPA staff, and the North Country community in growing a sustainable economy with good paying jobs here in St. Lawrence County."

King said he was “excited to work with the board to continue their goals on growing the northern New York economy.”

The board elected Vernon “Sam” Burns as authority board chair.

“I feel honored to have been elected by my fellow members to represent them as chair’” Burns said in a prepared statement from OBPA. “The OBPA has important economic development work to accomplish and we will continue that work as best we can.”

“To our newest board members congratulations on your appointment to one of the largest economic drivers in Northern New York,” authority executive director Wade. A. Davis said in a prepared statement. “I look forward to working with you and Chairman Burns to continue to improve the economy of northern New York and quality of life for its residents.”

Andriano and King will replace outgoing board members Samuel J. LaMacchia and Douglas W. Loffler.
