MASSENA -- WNTS Television, a Massena cable TV station, will be installing new equipment soon that will allow faster programming updates than are possible now.
Since it began broadcasting on Massena Time-Warner digital cable channel 1501 last November, has had to deliver programming via DVD.
The new system will permit changes and updates within minutes instead of the two or three days that it takes now. The equipment will open up possibilities for the station to broadcast timely news and events.
WNTS plans to start a daily morning show from their studio in St. Lawrence Centre as soon as the new system is operational.
Currently only available on the Massena cable system, WNTS plans to add the Canton-Potsdam cable system next month and the Ogdensburg cable system by the end of the year. They now broadcast from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. They plan to expand to 24-hour operation by year end.
