CANTON -- With farmers adding online sales to their already full schedules, Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County’s Local Food team is offering another session of free product photo shoots to make this, possibly new and daunting task, a little easier.

The team is working with a professional photographer to ensure all participants receive tasteful, eye-catching images for their sales and marketing purposes.

These shoots are open to all direct-market producers located in St. Lawrence County or those selling their products in the county.

The first shoot is scheduled for June 13, although the actual photo session will be closed to producers.

Producers who are interested will be informed when and where to drop off the item(s) for the shoot and are required to answer questions in a sign-up form that will help the team gather more information to capture the best images possible for each producer’s needs.

Flip Filippi, Local Food Program Leader, reiterates the importance of this kind of shoot for our local producers.

“These free product shoots are intended to make one aspect of a producer’s job easier. Daily, our farmers juggle production along with accounting, mechanics, employee management, marketing and the infinite other responsibilities. We've got good news though; you can leave the photography to Extension!”
