CANTON -- Canton Animal Clinic, 2750 NY 68, hosts an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 for a day of fun with the staff to show their appreciation to their customers and community.
A guided tour will show the many services they can offer and what goes on behind the scenes. There will be displays highlighting cases regularly seen in the veterinary field. There will be food, door prizes, discounts, educational displays and scheduled talks with various doctors.
A number of organizations will be present, including the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge, local shelters and businesses. This will be a family friendly event with a petting zoo, Teddy Bear Hospital, face painting, and games for the kids.
Those who have wondered what goes on behind scenes at a busy veterinary clinic, and for children with an interest in the veterinary field, are welcome to visit Canton Animal Clinic on August 17th.
The Teddy Bear Hospital is from 10 to 11 a.m. (bring an “injured” stuffed animal for the doctors to perform surgery); a dog training talk with Dr. Ruller is from 11 to 11:30; an acupuncture demo follows through noon; from noon to 12:30 p/.m. is an Atlas Balancing demo with Jody Wallace; then Q&A with the vets from 1 to 1:30; and from 1:30 to 2, an animal massage demo with Mindy.
