Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, Engaged Nation win Diamond Romero Award for interactive football promotion

HOGANSBURG — Digital marketing agency Engaged Nation and Akwesasne Mohawk Casino were awarded the coveted Diamond Romero Award in Online Marketing during the Casino Marketing & Technology Conference at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

It was the only Diamond-level award given in the category. Akwesasne Mohawk Casino implemented the “Pro Football Frenzy” gamified promotion that Engaged Nation developed and customized for the business during last year’s pro football season and playoffs.

The 22-week promotion revolved around an online game portal that drove daily engagement and incremental business throughout the campaign. The multifaceted campaign featured a combination of interactive activities, games, and incentives, including insured prizes totaling more than $2 million, segmented instant rewards, monthly drawings, special bonus codes, and weekly activations to drive continued repeat visits.

Unlike their prior football promotions, Pro Football Frenzy allowed Akwesasne Mohawk Casino to precisely measure the financial impact—especially incremental revenue generated. They were able to track and analyze the amount of engagement, rewards, pick ‘em cards, and brackets redeemed or activated that directly resulted in increased spending from their patrons.

“We were able to measure a near 20% increase in every revenue metric when compared to the prior year, same period,” said Craig Fuller, Director of Marketing for Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. “It was crazy.”

Tyler Cook, CRM Database Manager, accepted the Romero Award on behalf of the casino alongside Engaged Nation’s CEO, Jerry Epstein, and Director of Client Services, Raquel Rodriguez. The award winners are chosen each year by a panel of expert judges based on how well promotions or events drive measurable revenue with dead-on planning, uncommon imagination, and persuasive selling power.

This marks the third time Engaged Nation has won a Diamond Romero Award, the highest level of the award available, for their interactive digital marketing technology that has been utilized by a variety of businesses to achieve specific goals—from hyping new product launches to reactivating lapsed customers. The company is also a two-time winner of the MarTech Breakthrough Award for Best Interactive Content Platform and a recipient of BNP Media’s Platinum GameChangers Award and Top 20 Most Innovative Technology Award.
