CATAMOUNT FOREST, 9 miles South of South Colton on the East side of State Route 56. Limited parking available at Catamount Mountain trailhead, just South of the lodge driveway. Groomed trails open to the public.

CLARKSON UNIVERSITY, five miles of trails, accessible from parking lot on hill campus by Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP) by big green water tower, free.

CRANBERRY LAKE AREA, Five Ponds Wilderness Area, remote area, 40 miles of trails, starting in Wanakena, two miles south of NYS Hwy 3; in Wanakena cross one-lane bridge across Oswegatchie River. High Falls truck trail goes straight ahead; for Dead Creek Flow truck trail, turn left afte crossing bridge, go one-half mile.

DILLABOUGH STATE FOREST, off Russell-Pierrepont Rd., 7 km of trails, free.

GLENMEAL STATE FOREST, Town of Pierrepont, off County Road 24, accessed from Rt. 68, 1.9 miles of trails, free.

PEAVINE SWAMP SKI TRAIL, State Highway 3, west of Cranberry Lake, main trail of 3.9 miles tue state lean-to at Inlet flow, two loops at either end of 3.4 and 1.2 miles each, and 2.1 mile loop in middle; info: 386-4000.

POSTWOOD PARK AND COUNTY FOREST, Hannawa Falls, 13 km of trails starting at parking lot, 1.6-mile loop and 4.1 mile loop, free.

WILSON HILL WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA, Louisville, from State Route 37, turn onto State Route 131 to Willard Road, turn north and follow the road, 1.6 miles of trails.
