Weldon R. Belmore, 77, Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR - Weldon R. Belmore, 77, formerly of Gouverneur and loving husband of 25 years to Martha (Shelton) Belmore, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at his home in Pickens, South Carolina.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 pm with Martha Helmer, pastor of DeKalb Jct. Methodist Church officiating, at Hillside Cemetery, Antwerp with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.

A native of Gouverneur, Weldon was born on October 3, 1944, the son of the late Stanley Sanford and Myrtle (Rosella) Belmore.

He was a graduate of Gouverneur High School and attended SUNY ATC College in Canton.

Weldon worked at Corning Glass, Ryobi Tools, and MichelinTires.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and drawing.

Weldon was a member of 5 Point Church in Easley, SC.

Survivors include his wife Martha of Pickens, SC, his four children Gordon Scott and Jennifer of Binghamton, Tracey Lee and Cindy of Canton, Anthony Roy of Norwood, and Derek Lane of Waddington, seven stepchildren Robert James Phippin of Hopkinton, Sherry Phippin Gesualdi of Missouri, Mary Margaret Phippen Charleston of Potsdam, Jill Haack of South Dakota, Christy Weber of Pickens, Toni Hyder of Marietta, SC, and Joni Weber of Pickens, grandchildren Bethany and Sam, Sidney, Jaron, KaylyJaye, Abbie, Reece, Brandon, Holden, Jack, Morgan, Jordan, Quentin, Lily, Ivy, and Abigail, great grandchildren David, Paisley, Honor, and Atticus.

Weldon is also survived by his brothers Wayne Belmore and Warren Belmore both of Gouverneur, as well as Wendell Belmore and William Belmore both of Greenwood, SC, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Belmore is predeceased by a stepson Christopher Robin Phippen of Hopkinton.
