OGDENSBURG — To help the public better understand and prepare for the total solar eclipse on April 8, Dr. Timothy Abel, PhD, will be giving a presentation on April 7 at 1 p.m. at the Ogdensburg History Museum, 206 Ford St.

Dr. Abel, an adjunct professor of anthropology at SUNY Canton and senior archeologist at Timothy J. Abel, PhD, is also an amateur astronomer with a passion for celestial events.

During the presentation, Abel will provide a general overview of the eclipse, including its significance and how it occurs. He will also discuss what to expect during the eclipse and how best to view it.

As an amateur astronomer, Abel will share his tips and tricks for safely viewing the eclipse.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Abel share his expertise on the April 8th solar eclipse with our community," said Ogdensburg History Museum President, Julie Madlin. "His passion for both anthropology and astronomy will make for an engaging and informative presentation."

The presentation is free and open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend and learn more about this rare astronomical event.
