County legislative districts ensure that county decisions reflect the needs of the communities they represent.  St. Lawrence County (SLC) has 15 legislative districts.  LC District 15, comprised of Louisville, Waddington, and part of Massena has been represented by Rita Curran since 2019.

As a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Rita has a natural kinship with our hospitals and fire departments. When Rita was elected in 2019, she recognized that volunteer fire departments such as the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) not only provide an invaluable service but also reduce municipal government expenses by eliminating the need to pay for career firefighter wages, benefits and related costs.  

During her first year as Louisville’s SLC legislator, Rita participated in the annual Louisville Turtle Trot Walk-Run fundraiser for the LVFD as a participant. Since that time, she has not only been an annual race participant but also a financial sponsor of the event and has filled in as backup medical support. Rita also served five years as an LVFD auxiliary member and has recently joined the LVFD as a volunteer firefighter.

Rita’s personal commitment to the LVFD is just one example of her dedication of service to the residents in her legislative district. Please vote for Rita Curran on November 3 as your SLC District 15 legislator.
