"Stop the Steal" is a slogan former President Donald Trump often repeats at rallies and media events. Since he lost the election to Joe Biden in 2020, this is just one of many propaganda techniques he uses to incite his followers.
Demonizing the enemy is a way to transfer his own intent to steal the election by projecting that onto Joe Biden. In his cult of personality, he uses flattery, praise, and even tells his devotees he loves them, ensuring their loyalty. He also stokes fear, disseminates negativity, and sows doubt. He uses, quite effectively, flag-waving, flak, and gaslighting.
From November 2020 to January 2021, Trump's lawyers filed 62 judicial appeals challenging the election's legitimacy. All were dismissed outright or ruled to be without merit.
Trump's next strategy is detailed in a 45-page indictment handed down by the Special Counsel in August of 2023. I would strongly encourage any serious citizen to read the entire indictment of Donald J. Trump and his co-conspirators. Democracy was preserved because a few brave patriots stood up to powerful influencers and insurrectionists and said, "Enough!”
My own Congressperson is now one of Trump's biggest promoters. Elise Stefanik has violated her oath to the Constitution and her constituents. Identifying with the lie and the liar, she jockeys for position. Maneuvering to gain power, she's lost all credibility. Fortunately, sycophants do not fare well in history.
