Ralph J. "Peanut" Neverette Jr., 82, Colton

COLTON -- Ralph J. “Peanut” Neverette, Jr., 82, of County Route 58, unexpectedly passed away Monday evening, April 15, 2024, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Ralph was born July 4, 1941, in Fort Covington, New York, the son of the late Ralph J. and Rita (Bashaw) Neverette and attended schools in Massena, New York.

On November 25, 1987, he married Jean M. Burlingame in Parishville.

Ralph worked in various departments at Alcoa, retiring on December 1, 2001, as a Store Room Attendant.

After his retirement, he was a volunteer driver for St. Lawrence County. He was a member of the Parishville Amvets and former member of the Parishville Fire Department.

Peanut enjoyed watching television – especially Westerns, playing cards, and hunting.

Peanut is survived by his loving wife, Jean; his children, Marci (John) Schneider of Massena and Chris Neverette of Central Square; his daughters, Lois (Floyd) Bump of Parishville, Lauri Corbett (Walt Planty) of Canton, and Kimberly (Kevin) Page of Potsdam; his grandchildren, D’Ann Page, Shauna Dubray, Christopher and Erin Neverette; his step-grandchildren, Allisia (Kyle) Tyo, Crystal Corbett (Tim), Heather Corbett, Brooke (Wade) Cary, and Brock Waite (Kodi Perkins); many great grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren; his brother, Robert and Annette Neverette of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Terry Neverette on April 19, 2019; a step-daughter, Lisa Waite on February 22, 2023; a step-grandson, Floyd Bump III on December 23, 2020; and his sisters, Bertha Wilson and Ann Gillespie.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where friends may call Tuesday, April 23 from 10-12:00 PM when funeral services will be held.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Parishville.

A luncheon celebrating his life will follow services at the Parishville Amvets Banquet Hall.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to Parishville Fire Department.
