POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was charged with burglary after Potsdam police responded to a burglar alarm at Potsdam Humane Society, 17 Madrid Ave., according to village police.
Police responded early Jan. 1 to the animal shelter and reportedly saw a man leaving the area with two dogs, offices said.
Police said they charged 38-year old Gabriel J. Lafleur with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.
Lafleur allegedly broke into the humane society and damaged property inside.
He was cited and released, police said.
