DEKALB – State police are investigating the death of a Hermon man who died following fights that occurred early Oct. 29.
At around 4:08 a.m. troopers responded to Wells Street, Dekalb Junction, for a report of a disorderly subject.
An investigation revealed Joshua A. Guzman, 21, of Hermon, sustained head injuries resulting from physical altercations.
Guzman was transported to Gouverneur Hospital then to SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
On Oct. 30, Guzman died due to injuries.
On Nov. 1 an autopsy was completed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office. An investigation is currently ongoing by the New York State Police and St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office.
It’s unclear at this time what charges might stem from Guzman’s death as District Attorney Gary Pasqua said it’s too early in the investigation to share further details.
