OGDENSBURG – A Massena man was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility after he was allegedly found to be in possession of drugs following a traffic stop on March 16 in the City of Ogdensburg.
Jonathan M. Popiel, 46, of Evergreen Ave., was arrested on three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law insufficient notice of a signal, according to Ogdensburg police.
Patrol performed a traffic stop in the 800 block of Congress Street, assisted by the St. Lawrence County K-9. At the conclusion of the investigation, more than over two ounces of crystal methamphetamine, about 280 bags of fentanyl and two and half grams of cocaine were located in the vehicle.
Popiel was arraigned at Ogdensburg City Court and remanded to the county jail without bail.
