Lawrence Wilmer Thomas, 81, Waddington

WADDINGTON -- Mr. Lawrence Wilmer Thomas, age 81 of Waddington, NY passed away on May 1st at the Canton Potsdam Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mr. Lawrence Wilmer Thomas is survived by his sons, Scott (Dana) Thomas, Wilmer Thomas and fiancée, Rommy Donoso, Edward Thomas and fiancée, Kelly Billion and Chester (Nichole) Thomas; daughters, Somer Thomas and Shannon Gaurin, sisters, Elaine Momot and Sherrie Lee Ranson, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a son, Stanley L. Thomas.

Mr. Lawrence Wilmer Thomas was born on January 16, 1943, in Newburg, NY to Wilmer Chester Thomas and Irene Frances Boyce.

He was a graduate of Madrid Waddington Schools.

He served his country in the United States Air Force from January 23, 1961, to January 23, 1964.

Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the North Country. He had two marriages, first to Mary Cline and the second to Susan French that both ended in divorce.

He was living with his significant other Tammy McGregor.

He was the owner and operator of the Waddington Twin Brooks Golf Course for several years until his retirement.

He took over the golf course from his father “Red” Thomas who built and operated it for years.

He spent his winters in LaBelle and Venus, Florida and his summers in Waddington.
