Knights hockey team opens ECAC play against RPI

Posted

After a rare weekend off, Clarkson will start their conference play tonight as they host the Engineers of RPI at 7:00 pm.

RPI comes into the weekend off of a split with travel partner Union last weekend.  RPI won 8-6 on Friday and then lost 5-1 on Saturday.  Overall, the Engineers are 1-5 on the season.

Clarkson comes into the game with a 3-4 record.  A win against Michigan Tech on OCt 28th was a good lift as they headed into the off weekend.  The extra practice gave Coach Jones some time to work on special teams, and some situational play.  The Knights are lead by Cody Monds and Ryan Taylor on the goal scoring front, with 3 each.  Emmett Croteau was solid in a 3-1 win vs MTU, making 20 saves.  He and Austin Roden have split the goaltending duties thus far.

Today the Clarkson Physicians Assistants program is sponsoring the Teddy Bear Toss.  All stuffed animals collected will go to children at the Canton Postdam Hospital.  Fans are asked to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal and toss it on to the ice when Clarkson scores or after the first period, whichever comes first.
