MASSENA – Joyce J. Stark, 83, a resident of State Highway 420, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Joyce was born on December 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Gordon and Mildred (Richard) Holmes.
She attended St. Lawrence Central School.
In April 1958, she married Wayne A. Stark, Jr. at the Massena United Methodist Church.
Joyce owned and operated JJ Poodles, a dog grooming business in Massena for 13 years.
She loved her dogs, camping with her husband, going to garage sales, and for the past 18 years, she and her husband volunteered at the St. Lawrence Power Museum in Madrid.
Joyce is survived by her husband and her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mary Ann Holmes of Brasher.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Marie; and brothers, Percy and Lloyd Holmes.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call on January 9th, 3-6:00 PM.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Bixby Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to the Potsdam Animal Shelter.
