Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Fifield, 61, Winthrop

WINTHROP -- The family of Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Fifield, age 61, are saddened on her untimely passing, Monday, January 15, 2024.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.

A Memorial Service to be held in the summer at the convenience of the family, with burial to take place in Hermon Cemetery.

Jackie was born in Canton, on November 11, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Howard Jr. and Lula (Holliday) Fifield.

A graduate of Heuvelton High School in 1980. Jackie went on to continue her education at Canton ATC, and later began work as a civilian for the NYS Department of Corrections. Jackie graduated from the Academy and went on to serve for nearly 26 years until her retirement from Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Malone, NY of October 2022.

Jackie was a people person. During her time studying at Canton ATC, she befriended other classmates with similar common core beliefs.

She and her late sister, became active in the Canton Chapter of Zonta International.

She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, kayaking and spending time at the family camp in Parishville, NY. She enjoyed the time spent with her niece when shopping, and at campfires along with visiting her nephew, Ryan and his family in Plattsburgh.

Jackie is survived by her loving companion for nearly 20 years, Robert L. “Rob” Rotonde of Winthrop, NY; her siblings, Terry Fifield of Heuvelton, NY, Gary F. Fifield of Ogdensburg, NY, Everett R. and wife Judy Fifield of Deltona, FL, Orval L. and Cabrina Fifield of Plattsburg, NY; along with a uncles, Cecile Wells and companion Nancy from Heuvelton, NY, Jay and companion Kathy of Old DeKalb, NY, and aunt Shirley Briggs of Canton, NY and Edith Rathburn of Gouverneur, NY. Jackie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews’ great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was predeceased by a by one brother, William “Billy” Fifield of De Peyster; a sister, Penny Rooker of Star Lake, NY; and most recently her sister, Rebecca D. Fiacco in April, of 2022.

In lieu of flowers the family wished memorial contributions to be shared with Zonta International; 1200 Harger Road, Suite 330, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
