HOGANSBURG -- New York State police charged a Hogansburg man with driving drunk Sunday.
Abraham J. Thomas, age 33, of Hogansburg, was charge for driving while intoxicated at 7:06 am., Troopers responded to State Route 37, in the town Westville for a one car property damage accident.
Troopers arrived on scene, observed a blue 2012 Chevrolet Silverado that struck a tree. Troopers interviewed the driver, who was identified as Thomas, who stated he swerved to miss a deer, lost control of vehicle and exited the roadway striking a tree.
As Troopers were speaking with Thomas, he was showing signs of impairment. Troopers administered SFST’s, which Thomas failed. Thomas was arrested and transported to SP Malone where he provided a .12% BAC. Thomas was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Westville Court for a later date in December.
