COLTON — Higley Flow State Park will be open for viewing the total solar eclipse April 8 for day use from 8 a.m. to sunset, as it is every day of the year for public use.
The beach is an ideal spot for viewing the eclipse. The Park has a limited number of free glasses to offer those in attendance.
There is a playground, a pavilion, and several charcoal grills in the beach area. There is no water down at the beach and in the campground area this time of year, as buildings are not heated and it is too cold to activate underground water lines. Water and two bathrooms are available at the Nature Center/Lodge and the two more at the Main Office. There is no camping at the Park until Victoria Day weekend.
Attendees are invited to enjoy the amenities the Park has to offer while respecting its beauty by carrying out what was carried in. Park employees will be on hand to answer questions and offer any assistance needed.
