OGDENSBURG — The only prizes won by an Ogdensburg man who led police and patrols on a foot race through the backyards of homes on the 200 block of Paterson Street Tuesday afternoon was an arrest, charges and some jail time.
Richard A. Christy, 28, was wanted on a warrant and ran off on foot from St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies, state police, city police and officers from the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision on Tuesday, Nov. 28, a press release from the sheriff’s office said.
Christy’s attempt to avoid apprehension was foiled after he was apprehended by police.
He was charged with violating parole and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
Christy was taken to the St. Lawrence County jail on the parole violation and held.
He was issued an appearance ticket for resisting arrest and is scheduled to appear in city court on Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
