Dwyana Lee Rupert Scott, 77, Massena

MASSENA - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dwyana Lee Rupert Scott, of Massena share the passing of their beloved Matriarch, on January 25, 2024.

A time of visitation will be held Wednesday (January 31) at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena from 11-1:45 p.m. Funeral Services will commence at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born May 12, 1946, to the late Denzil & June (Belile) Rupert.

She graduated from Massena Central and later in life, from St Lawerence-Lewis BOCES, where she excelled in Business and Administration.

Dwyana then worked for BOCES, where she helped guide high school students down potential career paths until her retirement from the Massena Central School print shop.

Dwyana had a great love for Elvis and Golden Oldies music, her flower beds and all things Christmas related. Every holiday and celebration that went by she was lovingly surrounded by family and friends.

She was also a long-standing member of LVFD Ladies Auxiliary, serving as President for several years.

Dwyana shared a special bond with her children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There is a saying, “having a weird mom builds character,”; that one statement says it all.

Dwyana is survived by her children, Diane LaRock & Jeff Reifensnyder (Adam & Sierra, Sarah & David, Aleea); Dawn & David Cree, (Steven & Lauren, Brandan, Amanda & Matthew, Joseph & Kim, Shannan & Lucas); Dayna Premo & Rob, son in law/chosen son, Thomas Premo (Blake, Logan); Chosen grandchildren Jacob, Emma & Gracie; and several Great Grandchildren.

She is also survived by siblings; Roberta Newman, Joe & Anna, Dean & Laurene, Shot & Michelle, Isabel (Mike), Darcy & Beth, Steve & Chris Foster, Several nieces and nephews, especially Tommy, Danielle, Derek and Meaghan. Stepchildren, Kerrie & Tony Cooper, Kathy & Terry Pike, David & Martina Dawley.

Dwyana is predeceased by her parents, Denzil & June Rupert; stepfather, Ector Jacob; siblings, Skip (Denzil) & Charlotte, Darla (Sissy) & Robert Belknap, Mike (Dalton); special nephew, Dustin; but most notably the love of her life, Harold Dawley, whom she shared 39 years.
