Carol D. Wallace, 81, Burke

BURKE -- Carol D. Wallace, 81, of Burke, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Wynn Hospital, Utica, NY with her family by her side.

Born on March 2, 1942, in Burke, NY she was the daughter of Charles and Luna (Pillings) Crippen.

She was married to Kenneth Wallace in 1962. He predeceased her in 2009.

Carol graduated from Franklin Academy. She worked as a sales clerk for Newbury’s in Canton for many years and as a waitress at the hospital snack bar. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her sons, Kevin Wallace and his wife, Elizabeth of Harrisville, Corey Wallace and his companion, Theresa Banker of Cadyville; five grandchildren, Allyson Delair and her companion John Duvall, Melissa Wallace, Brent Enslow and his wife, Rikako, Sara Frank and Nicolas Banker; two great grandchildren, Blake and Hiroki; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her long-time companion Carlos Griffith; siblings, Jeanette LaValley, Ida LaPlant, Grace LaPlant, Martin Crippen, Ethel LaValley, Marion Ouimet and Beverly Lamb.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m.

Burial will be held in Constable Cemetery in the spring.
