CANTON – A Canton woman is now incarcerated at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility for allegedly throwing 85 packets of Fentanyl out the window of the vehicle she was driving during a traffic stop.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies charged Elizabeth A. Briggs, 32, with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, a Class B felony and tampering with physical evidence: conceal/destroy, a Class E felony during the course of a traffic stop on Brewer Road in the Town of Canton.
During the course of the investigation, Briggs was found to have thrown a bag out the window of a motor vehicle. Said bag contained 85 individual packets of Fentanyl, according to deputies.
Briggs was arraigned in Canton Town Court where she was remanded to the county jail without bail.
