Candace (Candy) E. Hooper, 68, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Candace (Candy) E. Hooper, aged 68, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica. NY surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial Service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, with Deacon Mark Lalonde officiating.

Entombment will follow at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum.

Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Candy was born January 17, 1956, in Canton NY, to the late Alfred and Beatrice (Cook) Hooper.

She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1975 and dedicated 25 years of her life to working at the Community Resource Center in Ogdensburg.

She was known for her vibrant personality and caring nature.

Surviving Candy are her four sisters, Terrill (Hap) O'Brien of Annandale VA; SueAnn (George) Huchcroft of Brockville, Ontario; Jeffra Montroy of Hogansburg, NY and Robin Miller of Waddington, NY. She is also survived by her sister -in- law Annette (Greg) Hooper, Oxford, NC; along with two aunts, Elda (Julius) Cook and Leona (Donald) Cook of Hogansburg NY along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Sherrill Hooper, Joyce Zezulak and Emily Brashaw; two brothers Edward and Greg Hooper and two brother-in-laws Vaughn Montroy and Robert Miller.

Candy's interests were as diverse as her personality. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, latch hook, playing cards, board games, fishing and word search puzzles.

Her infectious laugh and remarkable memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
