PIERREPONT— A tractor on fire led to the collapse of a workshop in the town of Pierrepont Monday, Jan. 26.
Pierrepont Fire Department, along with Colton Fire and Rescue and County Car 4, were dispatched at 1:36 p.m. for a tractor on fire inside of a workshop on Coon Road, according to a statement published online by firefighter and paramedic Kasey Aldridge.
Canton Fire responded to the scene, along with the tanker task force, due to the fire spreading to the entire workshop with the collapse of the structure.
Firefighting crews found heavy smoke and steam billowing upward from the remnants of the structure. Canton firefighters assisted Pierrepont and other mutual aid companies in extinguishment and overhaul of the building and its contents.
All Canton units were back in service at 4:38 p.m.
