Arthur L. "Art" Robinson, 91, Louisville

LOUISVILLE -- Arthur L. “Art” Robinson, age 91 of Louisville, NY, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Lakeland Florida, he died peacefully with his family by his side.

Art was born on April 28, 1932, in Massena, NY, the son of the late Arthur T. Robinson and Katherine (Sutton) Robinson.

He grew up in Massena, and attended Massena schools, working on his grandfather’s farm.

He enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War as a machine gunner/paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart.

He married Doris (Yvonne) Duquette on February 11, 1956, and together they raised their five children.

He worked as a forklift operator at the Reynolds Metals Aluminum Plant in Massena and retired in 1991. He spent his winters in Florida.

For hobbies, he liked to play online games, bongo drums, solitaire, shut the box, and ladder ball. He also was an avid woodworker and a loyal Syracuse basketball and football fan. Art loved camping, boating, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Art is survived by a daughter, Donna Chartrand of Lakeland FL, daughter-in-law, Sandra, son, Greg and Carleen of Lakeland FL, son, Martin and Allison of Madrid, NY, and son, Earl and Karen of Dexter, NY and his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Arthur was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Doris in 2020, a son, Ronald Robinson along with brothers, Herbert, Earl, and Robert, sisters, Ruth, Erma, and Anita.

Burial to take place in the spring with full Military Honors at the convenience of the family.
