In response to “Happy Hunting” which appeared in the Dec. 28-Jan. 3 issue of North Country This Week: I can't believe what I just read. You blame the low deer populations on the youth hunt? Seriously? These kids get only three days to harvest a deer. They are with a mentor and must stay on the ground. If they were lucky enough to get the only one they are allowed per year that would be only four deer total; the average per year you have harvested the past 25 years you've been hunting! I think people like you are the problem, not youth. Maybe once a hunter reaches the 100th deer harvest like your numbers work out to be, they (you) shouldn't be allowed to hunt anymore.
